Bradley Eugene Canaday , age 66 of Overland Park, Kansas, passed away on Tuesday, May 16, 2023. Visitation will be from 10-11am and a Celebration of Life at 11am on Saturday, May 27, 2023 at the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home in Bonner Springs, Kansas.
Brad was born on July 18, 1956 in Kansas City, Missouri, one of 4 children born to Ronald & Mildred Canaday. Brad graduated from SM Northwest High School in the Class of 1974. He continued his education at the University of Kansas graduating in the Class of 1978 with a degree in Secondary Education. Brad entered the Navy in 1978 and was a Lieutenant on the USS Constellation with specialties as Main Engine Officer, Damage Control Assistant, Boat Group Officer and Ship’s Navigator. He left the Navy in 1988. Throughout the years Brad worked as a Substitute Teacher, Landscaper and Caregiver after earning his CNA certification.
Brad was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Teresa O’Neal. He is survived by his son, Travis Canaday of Overland Park, Kansas and brothers Ronald Canaday Jr of Wichita, Kansas and David Canaday of Lake Alfred, Florida as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family.
