Beverly J. Sullivan
Beverly “Bev” J. Sullivan, age 80, of Tonganoxie, Kansas and previously of Edwardsville, Kansas passed away on Sunday, Dec. 18th, 2022 at her home. Her family is planning a celebration of her life gathering from 2pm to 6pm on Saturday, February 25th, 2023 at the Fall Creek Clubhouse, 1750 Fall Creek Dr., Tonganoxie, KS. 66086

In lieu of flowers, her family suggests memorial contributions to the Good Shepherd Thrift Store & Food Bank, 423 E. 4th St., Tonganoxie, KS. 66086

Bev was born on April 2nd, 1942 in Osage Beach, Missouri and was the oldest of five children born to Jewell & Lois McDowell. She and her siblings were raised in Edwardsville, KS and they attended schools in Edwardsville and Bonner Springs. Bev married the love of her life, Larry Sullivan on Dec. 15th, 1958 and together they made their home in the Edwardsville where they raised their three sons. She and Larry both worked at API Construction, Bev in the Office and Larry as a Superintendent, they both retired on the same day. They were known as “The Fun Couple” because they both had an adventurer’s spirit, with their love of flying, riding Dune Buggies in the desert hills, they were always, “having fun”. Because of their love of flying, they had built a home at an Airpark in Solomon, Arizona. In recent years Bev enjoyed going to Car Shows with her 1973 Corvette Stingray, volunteering at the Good Shepherd Thrift Store & Food Bank in Tonganoxie, and was learning to play the drums so that one day she would be able to play a solo of wipeout.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Larry Sullivan, one sister Sharon Kay Sower, and by her beloved cat “PeeWee”.
Survivors include her three sons: Randy Sullivan and wife Trish of Lambertville, Michigan, Jerry Sullivan of Kansas City, KS., Brett Sullivan and wife Nancy of Bonner Springs, KS., six grandchildren: Ashley, Jessica, Steven, Jennifer, Taryn and Alex. Eight great-grandchildren: Makayla, Jayce, Braylyn, Emma, Ryker, Audrey, Aiden and Hudson. Three siblings: Sandi Hale and husband Ronnie, Jewell “Butch” Mcdowell and wife Nancy and Theresa Saxton and husband Rick, as well as several extended family and many friends.
