Betty Jean Turney, 90, of Edwardsville, KS passed away on Fri., Feb. 22, 2019 at the Parkway Care and Rehabilitation Center in Edwardsville, KS. Visitation 10 to 11 am and Funeral at 11 am, on Tue., Feb. 26 at the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home in Bonner Springs, KS with burial to follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Kansas City, KS. Betty was born on July 13, 1928 in Kansas City, KS to James and Mary Edmondson. Over the years she was employed at Mason's Greenhouse, ARTEX Clothing Manufacturing and more recently by the Kansas Public School System. She was married to her second husband Roy William Turney on Oct. 15, 1983 and he preceded her in death on May 5, 1989 she was also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers Leonard and Arthur Edmondson and four sisters Linnie Mogle, Nadine Rogers, LaVon Herdman and Dorothy Edmondson and a great grandson Henry McAdoo. Betty is survived by three sons Joseph W. Surprise and his wife Portia; Kevin A, Surprise and his wife Jennifer and Ronald Surprise. Eight grandchildren Todd Surprise, Ryan Surprise, Amy Surprise, Jeremy Surprise, Karla Frazier, Kristy McAdoo, Kenneth Surprise and Kevin Michael Surprise and 12 great grandchildren
