Obituary for Betty Mize
Betty Mize, age 86, of Edwardsville, Kansas passed away on Monday July 15, 2019. Visitation will be 10-11am Friday, July 19th at the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home followed, by the Graveside Funeral Service at 11:30am in the Edwardsville Cemetery. Memorial Contributions can be made to Kindred Hospice.
Betty E. (Dalton) Mize was born on December 9th, 1932 in Nehawka, Nebraska. She married Jack D. Mize on September 14, 1950 and they were both longtime members of the Edwardsville United Methodist Church. Betty had been the Assistant Deli Manager at the Price Chopper at Wyandotte Plaza in Kansas City, KS. and was a member of the UFCW Union Local 576 of Kansas City. She loved the outdoors, watching birds, fishing and was an avid sports fan of KU Basketball, KC Royals and the KC Chiefs. Betty was preceded in death by her husband Jack D. Mize in 2002, and by her brother Cecil Dalton in 1992.
Survivors include her four sons; David L. Mize and wife Janette of Wamego, KS. Jack E. Mize and wife Joletta of Basehor, KS., Joe S. Mize of Smithville, Missouri., and Mike G. Mize and wife Mary B. of Raymore, MO., a niece Jody Dalton, eight grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren.
