Beth Ellen Sternberg Jasperson, October 9, 1940 - October 12, 2018
Beth was born in Salem, Oregon on October 9, 1940 to Gordon and Elsa Sternberg. She moved from Salem to Gresham when she was 1 or 2 years old. Beth accepted Christ as her Savior in third grade and was baptized at the age of 19 at Montavilla Baptist Church. Beth attended Portland Christian School until her sophomore year in high school and then transferred to Gresham Union High School. She graduated in 1958.
Beth graduated from Physicians and Surgeons Hospital as a registered and licensed X-ray Technologist in 1961. On October 14, 1960 she married Stanley G. Jasperson whom she met at Montavilla Baptist Church. They had two children: Damon Kendall Jasperson (spouse Janette) and Alyssa Nicole Jasperson Judd (spouse Jeffrey). They were blessed with four grandchildren: Hope (spouse Justin Zheng) and Irena Jasperson, and Ethan and Anna Judd.
During her 58 married years, Beth lived in a variety of places including Oregon, Minnesota, Texas, Illinois and Kansas. Beth loved to travel and explore new places but had a life-long love of the Oregon coast. She also loved to be with and make new friends. Her favorite hobby was taking photos, mainly flowers, working with them on the computer and making note cards to give to friends. She also was an avid birdwatcher. Most of all, she loved her grandchildren and being surrounded by her family.
Beth was preceded in death by both parents and by her brother, David Sternberg. She is survived by her loving husband, Stan, by both children, and by her four grandchildren.
In lieu of sending flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the PKD Foundation as it affects many in the family. You will find all you need to learn about PKD and to donate at this link: https://pkdcure.org/chapter/kansas-city/
