Obituary for Barbara Linn Wagner (Kimble)
Barbara (Barbie) Linn Wagner (Kimble), 67, of Basehor, KS went home to Jesus on November 12, 2018. She is survived by her husband David Leon Wagner of Basehor, KS. She was a loving and caring sibling which survives her brother Roger Kimble of Sidney, Montana and sister Norma McCallister of Leavenworth, KS. She was a loving mother, leaving behind 2 children, Hollis D. Wagner of Wichita, KS and Dana L. Davis of Kansas City, MO. She was also a proud grandmother of 2, Haley Wagner and Ronin Davis. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Olin Cecil Kimble and Margret Evon (Kuiken) Kimble.
Barbara was born February 18, 1951 in Beloit, KS to Olin and Margret Kimble of Downs, KS. She attended Downs Schools, graduating in 1969. After graduation from Downs High School she attended Brown Mackie College, earning her associates degree in Business and Accounting. She worked and retired from USD 453 Leavenworth School District where she worked as a film librarian for all the schools in Leavenworth county for 18 years. She then started another career path and worked for Northrop Grumman as a travel agent for 7 years, then retiring from there. After retiring a second time she started volunteering with Leavenworth Area Retired School Personnel, Counseling on Aging, many church organizations and giving medical rides for those in need. Barbara also served as Precinct Co-Captain in Leavenworth County, KS. and was the Mission’s Administrator at Victory Assembly of God Church.
Barbara’s most favorite joys in life was her love for Jesus and sharing it. Her faith in Jesus started as a young girl being baptized in March of 1951 at Downs United Methodist Church and later to be saved at a Methodist youth camp. Her faith never has wavered and she only grew in her walk with Jesus into her adult life. She and her husband also opened their home to help those in need by offering a warm loving place to stay and to share the Lord’s word with those who stayed. For many of Barbara’s earlier years before retiring in her spare time she was also a Sunday school teacher at First Assembly of God church in Leavenworth, KS. She truly was an inspiration and so was her faith in Jesus to all that knew her.
