Obituary for Barbara Ann Roberts
Barbara Ann Roberts passed away on Thursday, October 5th, 2023 at the age of 80. Her family will be having a Private Funeral Service with burial in the Bonner Springs Cemetery.
Barbara was born on June 1, 1943, in Omaha, Nebraska, and was one of two children born to John and Alice (Goode) Heath. She graduated from Shawnee Mission East High School and went on to the University of Kansas. While attending the University of Kansas, Barb went on a blind date, where she met Ed Roberts Jr., they hit it off immediately and went on to spend 60 happy years together. She was also a devoted dog lover and had many over the years, including her beloved dog, Tobey, who outlived her. Barb and Ed spent their winters in Palm Desert, California, and also had a house at the Lake of the Ozarks. Barb was a passionate fan of KU basketball and the Kansas City Royals.
Barbara was preceded in death by her father, John Henry Heath, her mother, Alice Vivian (Goode) Heath, her brother, Robert Paul Heath, and in March of this year, her husband Edward A. Roberts, Jr.
Barbara is survived by her two children, daughter Robin Roberts of Shawnee, KS, and son John Roberts and wife Missy of Bonner Springs. She was a proud grandmother to three grandchildren, including Jacob Burton, son of Robin Roberts. Mason Roberts, and Kaylan Roberts, who are the children of his son, John Roberts. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Laurie Heath, brother-in-law, Keith Roberts and wife Karen of Leawood, KS, and sisters-in-law, Sheryl Ann Chadwick and husband Chad of Bonner Springs, and Kathy Jo Stapp and husband Michael of Shawnee, KS. Barbara will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
