Obituary for Barbara Anne Keck (Cornelius)

Barbara Anne Keck, 71, of Basehor, KS passed away Tuesday, March 29, 2022 at the Kansas City Hospice House in Kansas City, MO. Visitation will be from 10 to 11:30 am, and the Funeral will be at 11:30 am, both on Saturday, April 2, at the Bonner Springs Church of the Nazarene, 742 N. Nettleton in Bonner Springs, KS with burial to follow in the Glenwood Cemetery near Basehor, KS. The family suggests memorial contributions to Midwest Transplant Network – Donate Life in care of the funeral home. Barbara was born on Feb. 24, 1951 in Kansas City, KS and was a lifelong area resident and spent time living in many places as a military spouse retiring back to the Basehor area in 1996. Barbara was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, was a lifelong Sunday School and Children’s Church Teacher and a member of the Nazarene Church. But above everything else her family was her highest priority as a sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, one son Michael Jason Keck in 2010, two sisters Teresa Mae Herring in 2013 and Rebecca Marie (Missey) Cornelius in 1966. She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years Bob Keck of the home. Two sons John Keck and his wife Elizabeth of Basehor, KS and Scott Keck and his wife Angie of Parkville, MO. One brother Gene Cornelius and his wife Renee of Basehor, KS two sisters Carol Moss of Excelsior Springs, MO and Connie Drake and her husband Ed of Independence, MO. Eight grandchildren Kasey, Justin, Carianne, Madalyn, Brandon, Hannah, Emily and Alyssa. And 12 great grandchildren who will all miss her greatly.
