BARBARA A. JOHNSON
Barbara Ann Johnson, 67 of Bonner Springs, KS passed away on Friday, October 22, 2021 at her home. Family will receive friends at a visitation from 6 to 8 pm, on Friday, November 12, 2021 at the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home in Bonner Springs, KS and have a Memorial Service at 10 am at the Open Door Baptist Church in Kansas City, KS on Sat, Nov. 13, 2021.
Barbara was born April 8, 1954 in Omaha, NE and graduated from Bonner Springs High School in 1972. She spent a long career as a Licensed Practical Nurse caring for seniors in Dementia Units in several area nursing homes. Her friends and family meant the most to her especially her three daughters who meant the world to her. She loved breaking horses and barrel racing in her youth. She really loved working and caring for her patients and often worked 70 hour weeks during the pandemic, touching so many peoples lives in wonderful and meaningful ways. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents Alvin and Eva Forney and her husband of 20 years Frank Johnson who passed in August of this year. She is survived by her three daughters Shawna Hillman and her husband Matthew of Edwardsville, KS, Faith Moody of Basehor, KS and Joy McClellan and her husband Stephen also of Edwardsville, KS. Four step-children Yolanda, Frank, Shantel and Derrick. Three grandchildren James, Meagan and Natalie. Two great grandchildren Marley and Raiden. As well as a host of other family, friends and colleagues that will miss her greatly.
