Obituary for Armando "Mando" De Leon

Armando “Mando” De Leon, age 80, a longtime resident of Bonner Springs, Kansas went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 2nd, 2023. The Rosary Service will be 5:30 pm, followed by a Prayer Service and then Visitation from 6:30 to 8:30 pm all on Friday evening at the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home. The Funeral Mass Service will be 10:00 am, on Saturday, December 9th at the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Burial to follow in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Memorial Contributions can be made to the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.

Armando was born on October 27th, 1943 Progreso, Texas, and grew up in Donna, Texas. He was one of seven children born to Fredrico & Sofia (Zamora) De Leon. Armando married Paula Zamora on August 7th, 1965 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and together they made their home in Bonner Springs. Armando enjoyed fishing with his kids and grandkids, and he loved family gatherings and spending time with his family, where he was known for his storytelling.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and three sisters.

Survivors include his wife Paula De Leon of the home and their four children: Sofia De Leon-Knapp (Dave) of Bonner Springs, Linda Baber (Steve) of Platte City, MO., Noe De Leon (Debi), and Armando De Leon, Jr. (Jackie Mitchell) all of Bonner Springs. Seven Grandchildren: Athana (Tommy), Taylor (Brittany), Jackson, Zane, Izabella, Kay Lin and Drake. Three Great-Grandchildren: Aries, Aurora, and Apollo. One sister Dora De Leon-Santos of California. As well as several extended family members and many, many friends.
