Annette Katherine Russell, 60, of Edwardsville, KS passed away on Thursday, April 6, 2023 at the Kansas City Hospice House in Kansas City, MO. Visitation will be from 10 am to Noon, Tuesday, April 11th, and funeral services will be held immediately following. Both will be at the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home in Bonner Springs, KS with burial to follow in Edwardsville Cemetery, in Edwardsville, KS.
Annette was born on May 15, 1962 in Kansas City, KS and grew up in Edwardsville, KS. She attended Muncie Christian School graduating in 1980. Annette worked at several area banks over the years, and for the last 11 years she worked at Schmuhl Brothers Transportation Services, handling payroll and accounts receivable. She was a member of the Bonner Springs Baptist Church, now called Fellowship West, where she was the pianist and organist for many years. Annette enjoyed music throughout her life as both a student and a piano teacher.
She is survived by her husband of 39 years Rick Russell, two children, Chris Russell and his wife Whitney of Bonner Springs, KS and Catie Russell and her significant other K.J. of Edwardsville, KS. One brother Philip Schlup of Basehor, KS and four grandchildren Hadley, Emeline, Chase and Kamryn. Annette was preceded in death by her parents, Leslie and Naomi Schlup.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Kansas City Hospice House, 12000 Wornall Rd. Kansas City, MO 64145.
