Obituary for Ada Joan Landauer (Kepler)

ADA JOAN LANDAUER
Ada Joan Fisher Landauer, 91, lost her battle with the corona virus, Sunday, December 13, 2020 at the Good Samaritan Society Nursing Home in Olathe, KS. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 AM, Funeral service will be 11 AM, both on Friday, December 18th at Alden-Harrington Funeral Home in Bonner Springs, Kansas. Burial to follow in the Holy Angels Catholic Cemetery in Tonganoxie, Kansas. Face Masks and Social Distancing will be required at the services. Attendance is limited to 45 at the funeral home. The funeral service will be broadcast on Facebook live. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Camp Mt. Hermon Church Camp, P.O. Box 817, 23800 Parallel Rd. Tonganoxie, KS 66086.
Joan was born on Oct. 7, 1929 in Kansas City, Kansas, but her family lived in the Basehor/Tonganoxie area. She graduated from Basehor High School in 1946 and continued to be a lifelong Kansas City area resident. As a lifelong member of the First Central / Olathe Church of the Brethren, she was devoted to her faith. Joan was a hard worker and devoted to her family. With her high school education, she was proud to be a legal secretary for Hylton Harman, a prominent attorney as well as, Mark Wheeler, a prominent realtor. Without exception, she instilled a strong work ethic in her children and influenced those that she worked with. She was fortunate to marry the love of her life, Aaron Landauer on June 5th, 1982 and the best years of her life began. Joan was the last surviving child of eight of Fred and Viola Kepler. Aaron Landauer, her husband of thirty years, preceded her in 2012. She leaves four children to celebrate her the remaining days of their lives; Beverly McMillian of Shawnee, KS; Viana DeRossett and her husband Mike of Tonganoxie, KS; Debbie Stovall and her husband Rich of Springhill, KS and Jimmy Fisher of Shawnee, KS. Also celebrating her are much loved sisters-in-law, Norma Kepler of Kansas City, KS, Anna Mary Landauer of Basehor, and Margaret Smith of St. Louis, and a nephew Dennis Terry. She also leaves her lifelong friend Nancy McDuffie of Shawnee, Kansas. Ten grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren will also be left without her loving presence.
