Obituary for Cheryl Kay "Cherrie" Trobough

“Cherrie”
Cheryl Kay Trobough, 60, of Edwardsville, Kansas passed away Saturday, September 23rd at St. Lukes Hospice House after a brave battle with cancer. Cherrie was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on March 11th, 1957. She was the daughter of Harold and Dorothy (Jones) Merkl. Cherrie moved to Kansas City in 1990 where she worked for Commerce Bank, Bayer, and Kansas Gas Services.
Cherrie was an incredible person who lit up every room she walked in to. She loved decorating and could help complete almost any project. She loved spending time with her grandson Travis as well as family and friends.
She is survived by two daughters, Lori Klocke of Edwardsville, Kansas and Bridget Duhme of Lawrence, Kansas; a grandson, Travis Duhme Jr. of Bonner Springs, Kansas; her mother, Dorothy Cormack of Marion, Iowa; her sister, Debbie Conway of Marion, Iowa as well as an uncle, niece, numerous cousins and close friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Harold Merkl and her son, Travis Duhme.
A visitation will be held Tuesday, September 26th at Alden-Harrington Funeral Home in Bonner Springs, Kansas from 5-7PM with a memorial service to follow.
