Obituary for Jay Goss

James Owen Goss, Jr., 56, of Bonner Springs, KS passed away on Tuesday, March 22, 2016. Visitation 11 am to 1 pm, and Funeral at 1 pm, Sat., March 26, at the Alden – Harrington Funeral Home in Bonner Springs, KS. Burial to follow in the Glenwood Cemetery in Basehor, KS.
The family suggests memorial contributions in lieu of flowers to the Shriner’s Children’s Hospital or to Rotary International in care of the funeral home.
Jay the older of two sons, was born on May 23, 1959 in Kansas City, KS to Jim and Beverly (Taylor) Goss. Jay was a 1977 Graduate of Wyandotte High School and was a proud Eagle Scout. In his youth he was an accomplished competition motorcycle racer, riding motorcycles was an interest he carried throughout his life. He met his best friend and wife, Nancy Kohler in 1978. Together they created, owned, and operated Predator Pest Control in Bonner Springs for the past 21 years. Some of Jay’s favorite pastimes included boating at Perry Lake, cross country motorcycle travel with his wife taking in 37 states and then later with their children in the family motorhome.
Jay was preceded in death by his mother Beverly Goss in 2005 and is survived by his wife Nancy Goss of the home. Two children Jimmy Goss and Kellie Jay Goss also of the home. His father Jim Goss (Nellie) of Basehor, KS. A brother Curt Goss (Trina) of Topeka, KS as well as a host of friends throughout the community.
