Myron Harrison Newsom, age 91, a longtime resident of Bonner Springs, KS. passed away on Thurs. Feb. 22, 2018. Visitation will be from 10-11am Tuesday, Feb. 27th at the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home with the Graveside Funeral Service at 11:30am in the Bonner Springs Cemetery. Memorial Contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society.

Myron was born on September 25, 1926 in Mexico, Missouri and was the second eldest, of four children born to, Charles Wilbur & Priscilla L. Newsom. He moved to Bonner Springs in 1949. Myron was married to Mary Lavon Newsom for 28 years. He had worked at Sunshine Biscuit, Meyer Diary, Hercules Powder Plant and retired from the National Beef Company. Myron was preceded in death by his parents and by his brothers; Lacy and Alfred Newsom. He is survived by his two daughters; Helen Hurd of Bonner Springs and Myra (Keith) Mullins of Edwardsville, IL., four grandchildren; Elizabeth (Jamie) Russell, Kyle, Rachel and Miranda Mullins, two great-grandchildren; Ashley (Daryl) Whitmill and Mackenzie Russell, two great-great-grandsons; Jayden and Dominick Whitmill, as well as several extended family members and friends.
