HAROLD E. THIESSEN
Harold Eugene Thiessen, 79, of Edwardsville, KS passed away on Thur., Oct. 12, 2017 at Providence Medical Center in Kansas City, KS. Visitation will be from 9 to 10 am, and Funeral Memorial Mass Services will be at 10 am, both on Thur., Oct. 19, at Saint Patrick's Catholic Church, 94th and State Ave. in Kansas City, KS. With burial to follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Kansas Cty, KS.The family suggests memorial contributions to Catholic Charities in care of the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home 214 Oak St. Bonner Springs, KS 66012. Harold was born May 9, 1938 in Newton, KS as a young man he lived in Kansas City, MO on the West Side later moving to Kansas City, KS in 1958 when he married his sweetheart Barbara Koehler. Together they moved to Edwardsville in 1988. He worked for Farmland Industries for 35 years retiring in 2000 as a Lithographer. He then went to "work" golfing which he enjoyed greatly, he also loved spending time with his family and especially his grandkids. He is survived by his Wife of 59 years Barbara Thiessen of the home. Four children Michael Thiessen of Edwardsville, KS; Margaret Taylor and her husband Ronnie of Scotland, U.K.; Mary Ladd and her husband Lloyd of Bonner Springs and John Thiessen and his wife Karla of Parkville, MO. Two brothers Dick Thiessen and Carl Thiessen. Two sisters Doris Oates and Peggy Krause. Ten grandchildren and eight great grandchildren and one on the way.
