George Lee Pollock, 74, of Bonner Springs, KS passed away on Monday, April 10, 2017 at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Lawrence, KS. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 am and Funeral at 11 am both on Friday, April 14, 2017 at the Calvary Bible Church, 518 W. Insley in Bonner Springs, KS with burial to follow in the Edwardsville Cemetery. The family suggests memorial to the church or to the Audubon Society in care of the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home, 214 Oak St. Bonner Springs, KS 66012. Mr. Pollock was born on Aug. 14, 1942 in Kansas City, KS and was a lifelong area resident. He was a 1960 graduate of Bonner Springs High School and received a Bachelor’s degree from Baker University. After teaching school for a few years he started working at the Kansas City Star where he worked for more than 30 years as a Mailer. He was a faithful member of the Calvary Bible Church in Bonner Springs for many years and loved Bird Watching and enjoying the outdoors with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents Walter Lee and Clara Pollock and also his wife Dolores Pollock in 2015. George is survived by his eight children Michael Pollock and his wife Jamie of Buckner, MO; Amy Martin of Lee’s Summit, MO; Sherry Vannattan-Whiles of Edwardsville, KS; Belinda Norman and husband Phillip of Louisburg, KS; Marla Ratliff and husband Daryl of Riddleton, TN; Marlin Crawford and wife Carla of Basehor, KS; Shelia Williams and husband Eric of Kansas City, KS and Buckley Crawford of Leavenworth, KS. Three sisters Ethel Pembleton of Pryor, OK; Donna Florence of Basehor, KS and Mary Pickett of Edwardsville, KS. One brother Tim Pollock of Bonner Springs, KS; 15 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
