Michael William Ducey, Sr., 73, of Bonner Springs, KS passed away on Sat.,Feb. 11, 2017 at his home. Funeral services will be at 8:30 am, Thur., Feb. 16, at the Annunciation Chapel at University of Saint Mary in Leavenworth, KS with burial to follow in the Leavenworth National Veteran's Administration Cemetery, in Leavenworth, KS. Friends may call at the visitation from 6 to 8 pm, Wed., Feb. 15, at the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home in Bonner Springs, KS. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Boy Scouts of America Troop 189 in care of Scoutmaster Max Waddell 6101 Nall Ave. Mission, KS 66202 or to the University of Saint Mary Department of Nursing in Memory of Bill Ducey for the support of the Department of Nursing. Bill was born July 22, 1943 in Kansas City, MO and was a lifelong area resident growing up in Basehor, KS where he graduated in 1961. He was proud to have served in the U.S. Navy as a Boatswain's mate on the USS Canberra. He loved working with his hands and owned and operated B and J Home Remodeling for over 30 years retiring in 2009. He is survived by his wife of 49 years Kathy Ducey of the home, and two sons Michael W. Ducey, Jr. (Christina) of Merriam, KS and M. Scott Ducey (Nicolette) of Bonner Springs, KS. Two sisters Maureen Del Percio of North Kansas City, MO and Melinda Sells of Colorado Springs, CO and Lifelong friend Phil Hendrix of Shell Knob, MO. Four grandchildren Michael Anthony (Jenn), Aaron Lee, Olivia and Adam as well as Chelsey Keithley.
