Juanita M.  Metsinger Reeves
Juanita M. Metsinger Reeves, 84, of Merriam, KS. Passed away Friday, May 20, 2016. Visitation 2-4 pm, Sun., May 22, at the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home in Bonner Springs, KS. Funeral Service 1 pm, Mon., May 23, at Shawnee Mission Baptist Temple in Shawnee, KS with burial to follow in Monticello Union Cemetery. Memorial Contributions can be made to the Shawnee Mission Baptist Temple.

Juanita was born on August 30, 1931 in Fredonia, Kansas to Glen and Jean Richardson. Juanita was the co-owner of Metsinger Cart Co. with her husband Benny Metsinger and had worked in the cafeteria at the DeSoto High School for many years. Benny Metsinger proceeded her in death in 1989. In 1992 she married Richard L. Reeves and together they made their home in Merriam. Juanita and Richard are both members of the Shawnee Mission Baptist Temple, where Juanita was very active in the church, the church choir and many other church activities. “She loved her Lord, her Church, her Husband, her Family, her Friends, her Garden, her Animals, her Royals, her Chiefs and her Jayhawks!” Juanita was also preceded in death by her parents, one sister Glenda Wolfe and one step-daughter Susan Reeves. Survivors include her three sons; Mike Metsinger and wife Joanne of Olathe, KS., Kevin Metsinger and wife Lucinda; Bruce Metsinger and wife Jami all of Shawnee, KS., two step-sons Chuck Reeves of Paola, KS., and Tom Reeves of Jacksonville, FL., one sister Sharon Richardson and one brother Glen Richardson, Jr. both of Peyton, CO., 14 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren as well as several friends and extended family.
