Suzanne Violet Mikkelson, 59, of the Piper area of Kansas City, KS went home to be with the Lord on Sat., Sept. 26, 2015. Funeral service will be 3 p.m., Sat., Oct. 3, at Basehor United Methodist Church burial in Bonner Springs Cemetery. The family will receive friends at a visitation from 2 to 3 p.m. prior to the service also at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the, Lupus Foundation of America, in care of the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home.
Suzanne was born on April 6, 1956 in Stockton, California. She was an Optician for the U.S. Navy as a civilian employee, and had worked in the Optical Department for Wal-Mart. Suzanne was a member of the Basehor United Methodist Church. Her hobbies included sewing, gardening, painting, decoration and spending time with family and friends. Suzanne was preceded in death by her Uncle William Bloom, stepfather Robert Ludwig and recently by her mother Elda Ludwig. Survivors include her husband Brian Mikkelson of the home. One son Rob MacIntosh and his wife Becky of Hoyt, KS., three step-daughters; Laura McLaughlin (Ryan), Erin Holland (EJ), Audrey Mikkelson, one sister Laurie Davidson of Suisun City, CA., aunt Violet Uthola Bloom and cousins Junella Hays and Paula Harris. Two grandchildren Katelyn & Kurtis MacIntosh, one step grandson Hank Holland, as well as extended family and friends.
