Mary Lynn Joyner, age 64 of Edwardsville, Kansas passed away on July 30, 2015. Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 1st, at the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Edwardsville Cemetery. Visitation will be 10-11a.m. Prior to the service also at the funeral home. Memorial Contributions can be made to the St. Luke's Hospice House in care of the funeral home.
Mary Lynn was born on August 9th, 1950 in Kansas City, Kansas, the fourth of four children born to Mervin and Barbara (Drennon) Holley. She grew up and attended schools in Edwardsville and graduated from Wyandotte High school. She was a Certified Nursing Assistant working at area nursing homes and had also worked at Answer Kansas City for over 28 years, retiring in 2013. Mary Lynn loved writing; and was an avid writer of poems and books, she was proud to have three of her books published. In her retirement she had lived in Sierra Vista, AZ and most recently Bethany, MO. Mary Lynn was preceded in death by her parents, sister Patricia Thomas in 2006 and by her husband of 14 years, Duke Joyner in 2009. Survivors include two siblings Virginia Croft of Bethany, MO. and Robert Holley and wife Pat of Denver, CO., two step sons Danny and Ron and his wife Kathy, step daughter Karen, grandchildren and Dorothy.
