Obituary for Frank Donald "Don" Tate

Frank “Don” Tate, age 84, of Parkville, Missouri, passed away on Sunday July 26, 2015. Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at the Edwardsville Christian Church with burial to follow in the Edwardsville Cemetery. The family will receive friends at a visitation from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. prior to the service also at the church. Memorial contributions can be made to the Edwardsville Christian Church in care of the funeral home.

Don was born on December 31, 1930 in Kansas City, KS. He had worked at Lonestar Industries for 27 years and retired from KC Power and Light. He was an over 60 year member of the Masonic Lodge in Bonner Springs and was a longtime member of the Edwardsville Christian Church. He and his wife Edna had owned and operated the “City Café” in Richmond, Kansas. Don was preceded in death by his parents Francis and Cathy Tate and by one sister Earlene Gilbert. Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Edna Tate of the home, two children, Linda Spurr and husband Donald of Colorado Springs, CO., and Larry Tate and wife Denise of Stilwell, KS., five grandchildren; David, MaiLe, Melissa, Derek and Lindsey, five great-grandchildren Martin, Travis, BaiLe, Morgan and Tyler, as well as two sisters, Barbara Hedland and Terry Lea Gilly.
