Obituary for Bernice Dannefer

Bernice Dannefer, age 100 of Basehor, Kansas and previously of Osborne and Burr Oak, Kansas passed away on Saturday, March 28, 2015. Memorial Services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 2nd at the Bonner Springs United Methodist Church. Burial of her cremated remains will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 4th in the Burr Oak Cemetery in Burr Oak, KS. Memorial contributions can be made to the Burr Oak United Methodist Church in care of the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home.

Bernice was born Nov. 12, 1914 in Formoso, Kansas the youngest of four children born to John “Toad” and Elsie “Sis” (Dunstan) Shedden. She was a 1932 graduate of Formoso High School. Bernice married Keith Dannefer on January 12, 1935 and together they lived near Burr Oak, KS. She was a lifetime member of the Order of Eastern Star and a longtime member of the Burr Oak United Methodist Church. Bernice enjoyed being a homemaker and was known for her homemade pies. She was preceded in death by an Infant son Larry Eugene Dannefer, her husband Keith Dannefer in 1993 and by her son Dennis Dannefer 2006. Her siblings Frank, Charles and Lucille also preceded her in death. Survivors include her two daughters Norma Lee Curtice (Ron) of Basehor, KS. and Jane Zacharias (Bill) of Clay Center, KS., seven grandchildren Cheri, Melanie, Renee, Erica, Adam, Josh and Luke; eight great-grandchildren Amanda, Mitch, Logan, Hayden, Presley, Hampton, Creighton and Telva, as well as extended family and friends.
