Obituary for David Lee Chronister

David Lee Chronister
David L. Chronister, 66, of Kansas City, KS passed away peacefully on December 7, 2014 surrounded by his family. David had two brand new knees that were working good but his lungs and stomach decided they didn’t want to work anymore. David grew up in Kansas City, KS and was employed in the printing industry for over 40 years retiring from the Metropolitan Community College’s inplant print shop in 2010. He is a graduate of Washington High School. David loved all kinds of trains, big and small and was an avid train collector. He belonged to the Train Collectors Association and the local Heart of America TCA chapter. David was married to his wife Cindy for 41 years. They have two sons Shawn Robert and Chad Everett, 5 granddogs, Bandit, Smokey, Shrek, Fiona and Gizmo. David recently spent many happy hours babysitting his grand-pugs Bandit and Smokey.

David was preceded in death by his father and mother, Everett and Edna Chronister.

Survivors include his wife Cindy of the home, sons Shawn and Chad, Kansas City, KS, sister Donna Morain and her husband Bob of North Carolina, brother Douglas Chronister and his wife Nancy of Stockton, MO. Also survived by his many wonderful nieces and nephews

David’s wishes were to be cremated and have his ashes scattered off the back of a train on a trip which we will try to do sometime next year. David did not want any type of visitation or funeral. Sometime after the first of the year we will have an open house to celebrate David’s life with family and friends.
