Obituary for Clifford m. Gallagher

Clifford M. Gallagher, age 85 of Bonner Springs, KS. passed away on Friday April 4th, 2014 at his home while surrounded by his family. Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday April 11th at the Bonner Springs United Methodist Church with burial to follow in the Bonner Springs Cemetery. The family will receive friends at a visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday evening at the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home. Memorial contributions can be made to the Bonner Springs United Methodist Church or the Bonner Springs VFW #6401 both in care of the funeral home.
Cliff was born on May 28, 1928 in Bonner Springs and was a lifelong area resident. He graduated from Bonner Springs High School in 1948 and then married Jeannine Garrett on October 14, 1950. He was a US Army Veteran serving in Korea as an MP. When he returned he worked for a short time for the Union Pacific Railroad, before beginning his career with Bonner Springs – Edwardsville USD #204 as an Electrician where he worked for many years retiring in 1991. He was the Assistant Fire Chief for the Bonner Springs Fire Department from 1965 to 1970, was a lifetime member of the Bonner Springs VFW #6401 and a member of the Bonner Springs United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife of 63 years Jeannine Gallagher of the home, one daughter Debe Janae Gallagher-Birzer and her husband Matt of Bonner Springs, KS., two grandchildren MacArthur and Marcus and three great-grandchildren Alexander, Jacob and Skyler.
